The ceremony begins as guests watch their personal honey mask being prepared using the exclusive Miraval honey that is sourced from 20 on-property hives, chia seed oil, locally-grown blood oranges and native aloe. The skin is then exfoliated with chia seeds before the hand- crafted mask is delicately applied. After the mask is absorbed, the face is warmed by a hand-sewn poultice containing green tea, rose and citrus followed by a relaxing massage with rich chia seed oil. Miraval will only offer 20 of these limited facials per year – one for each hive on property – each of which will benefit Tohono Chul Park’s Adopt-a-Bee program. A version of this treatment using honey from hives not on the Miraval property will live permanently on the Miraval spa menu. December 2017 ■ PULSE 19
