1. PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, was one of nearly
two dozen local businesses to team up with Palm Beach County
tourism officials to promote the area as a destination for those in
need of a short respite. During the month of October, roughly 20
local spas, wellness centers and restaurants offered special deals and
packages to both out-of-town visitors and local residents for the
annual Spa and Wellness Month promotion. As part of the effort,
participating businesses also pledged to donate a portion of their
proceeds to the Palm Beach County chapter of the American Cancer
Society.

Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona, has added the new
Harvest Honey Ceremony, which is a limited-edition, invitation-only facial
that utilizes Miraval’s own organic Sonoran wildflower honey for a truly
decadent experience. The ceremony begins as guests watch their personal
honey mask being prepared using the exclusive Miraval honey that is sourced
from 20 on-property hives, chia seed oil, locally-grown blood oranges and
native aloe. The skin is then exfoliated with chia seeds before the hand-
crafted mask is delicately applied. After the mask is absorbed, the face is
warmed by a hand-sewn poultice containing green tea, rose and citrus
followed by a relaxing massage with rich chia seed oil. Miraval will only offer
20 of these limited facials per year – one for each hive on property – each of
which will benefit Tohono Chul Park’s Adopt-a-Bee program. A version of
this treatment using honey from hives not on the Miraval property will live
permanently on the Miraval spa menu.
