IT ’ S BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR SINCE THE WORLD CAME TO A HALT . Mercifully , it seems as if we can now not only see the light at the end of the tunnel but that we may soon actually reach it . I was out for dinner last week in Beverly Hills , California , and there was a familiar buzz on the streets . The hum of animated conversation filled the air , wine glasses clinked and laughter dotted the evening hustle and bustle . Still , as our party was escorted to our table , we had to remain masked . We sat outside in an improvised dining area , and plexiglass separated the tables , clear reminders of the ways we ’ re still navigating the challenges of the moment .
That experience brings to mind one of many things that ISPA is known for : Education . Like that restaurant ( and with the invaluable support of our board , volunteer leaders and countless sponsors ), ISPA ’ s educational offerings have adapted to meet the moment . Our Reopening Town Halls were a huge success , starting with our first in June 2020 on the process of safely reopening spas . Our first Chat with Product Pros in July 2020 saw savvy resource partners educating us on sanitation and PPE . Our first Heart of the Matter in September 2020 with Tembi Locke taught us how to grieve momentous change in our industry . We ’ ve now expanded our virtual educational content to include Pulse Partner Interviews , where we focus on product lines and companies that support the industry and the association . Our February Shine On session with Seth Mattison demonstrated the high level of content and education that will anchor the Stronger Together Summer in May .
For me , ISPA ’ s virtual education has unquestionably been one of the positive outgrowths of the Pandemic , allowing us to positively impact the industry and provide real tools for the membership to navigate our current circumstances . The Stronger Together Summit will continue that trend , and I can ’ t wait to see you all there !
