SOUND OFF
DO YOU EVER WONDER
how your peers would handle a situation?
Maybe you’re curious what other leaders in
the spa industry have to say on a certain
subject. In Sound Off, we ask ISPA members
from differing backgrounds, countries and
companies the same question and see how
their answers compare.
THIS MONTH’S QUESTION:
“What has been the most
surprising aspect of your
spa’s reopening process?”

AMELIA HILL
Spa Director
SPATERRE AT LITTLE PALM ISLAND RESORT & SPA
“The most surprising aspect for me
was the demand! Our locals as well
as our hotel guests were so excited
to be nurtured. They were also extremely
gracious and understanding
of all the new protocols and
guidelines that were put in place
for their safety. We have been fully
booked most days with our new capacity
guidelines. It has been a
wonderful return.”
“The most surprising aspect of reopening
has been the overwhelming
support we’ve received from the
community. This industry is remarkably
intimate. Therefore, to
open our doors to guests eager for
personal touch during a pandemic,
which has caused everyone to do
the opposite has reaffirmed our
purpose.”
“I think the most surprising aspect
of our spa’s reopening has been
how incredibly busy we have been.
I made the wrong assumption returning
to Little Palm Island that
people would be hesitant to have
services. It is quite the opposite.
We are reminding guests why we
have a shortened menu and more
clean-up time in place.” n
