Clear structures and early

transparency in PTO access.
l CHRISTIAN DAVIES: After 90 days,
employees have access to benefits
and start with 12 days of paid time
off. Everything they earn they accrue
, and it rolls over from year to
year.”
l JAANA ROTH:“ Our benefits are very
different, depending on whether
you’ re full time, part time or on call.
Full-time employees have all benefits
, but we usually don’ t have too
many full-time therapists. All employees
receive sick time; full-time
employees receive six sick days, and
they can carry over, while part-time
and on-call employees receive five
sick days. All employee benefits
start after 30 days of employment.”

submit their paid time off 30 days in

advance and there’ s not a seniority component as to who can take it and when. We ensure we are adequately staffed— and having the 30- day minimum really supports the business and gives leadership time to flex if they need to.” JAANA ROTH:“ We’ re very seasonal in Scottsdale, from October to the end of May is our high season and all of our therapists have set schedules. If an employee wants a day off during high season, then they must find a therapist to cover and it’ s usually not a problem for them. During the summer, our policy is for
