THE INDUSTRY RESEARCH CONDUCTED each year by the ISPA Foundation is routinely cited by ISPA members as one of the most significant benefits of membership , which is why it ’ s so exciting when we have the opportunity to share the results of the latest ISPA U . S . Spa Industry Study . Released last month and available to all ISPA members , the results of this study paint a picture of a resilient industry that has recovered well from the low points of 2020 .
In addition to Big Five statistics that were unveiled at the 2022 ISPA Conference , this year ’ s U . S . Industry study also highlights spas ’ approaches to revenue management , detailed breakdowns of services offered and pricing , changes in compensation across a range of spa positions and a host of other incredibly relevant , actionable data . As always , the ISPA Foundation is proud to provide these kinds of practical , valuable resources to ISPA members as we continue our long-held mission to improve and enhance the value of the spa experience . And , as always , we ’ re grateful to everyone who has supported those efforts through their generous donations .
The 2022 ISPA Conference not only gave us the opportunity to once again engage with the ISPA community in person and share important data with members , but also to announce the return of the ISPA Foundation Mary Tabbachi Scholarship , which has not been awarded since 2019 due to pauses to-person instruction and other factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic . The scholarship , named for Dr . Mary Tabbachi , is awarded to a student pursuing a career in spa management , leadership or entrepreneurship .
It ’ s more important than ever for us to empower the next generation of spa leaders and professionals as the industry continues its recovery and works to address its staffing challenges . I ’ m especially proud to share some good news first announced at Conference : my company , Agilysys , has pledged to fully fund the ISPA Foundation Mary Tabbachi Scholarship for the next five years . All of us at the ISPA Foundation are thrilled about the scholarship ’ s return , we ’ ll be announcing further details soon . Stay tuned !
