Why We Serve
WOW— THIS YEAR FEELS LIKE IT PASSED FASTER than any in recent memory. Between stepping into a new role as chief longevity officer at The Estate and being elected your ISPA chair, it’ s been a season of change, gratitude and tremendous growth.
A small story has stayed with me. Last September, on a rare, great travel day, I’ d been upgraded, boarded early, everything running smoothly. As I settled into my seat, a small notecard lay facedown beside me. At first, it looked like someone had dropped it. But when turned over, it was addressed to me. It read:
“ Kenneth Ryan, your American Eagle flight crew would like to thank you for joining us today and for being a loyal Executive Platinum member.”
Below the notecard’ s“ You are why we fly.” tagline, it was signed,“ Amanda & Byron.”
That simple handwritten card caught me off guard. It wasn’ t on every seat— it was personal. And in that moment came a feeling we all strive to create: to make someone feel deeply seen, valued and cared for.
It reminds me of our why at ISPA— to serve, elevate and care for one another and for the people who trust us with their well-being.
The months ahead promise exciting growth and new developments for our members. The energy, creativity and innovation flowing through our community right now are truly inspiring. And this year’ s ISPA Conference will be our best yet— a celebration of connection, purpose and the power of our shared mission.
So, take a moment to reach out to someone in our ISPA family— send a note or a text, or make a quick call— and tell them you can’ t wait to see them. Let’ s start planning now to make this Conference one to remember.
