“ Does it strengthen the industry? Does it help our members?”
BOARD BRIEFINGS

2025 IN REVIEW: Purpose. Progress. Partnership.

AS 2025 WINDS DOWN, ISPA celebrates a year marked by strategic progress and purposeful collaboration. Through every meeting, milestone and message, the ISPA Board of Directors guided the association’ s mission with clarity and care— ensuring ISPA remains the trusted voice of the spa industry long after this 35th anniversary year. We hope you have and will continue to stay connected to the work of the board through Board Briefings.

“ Does it strengthen the industry? Does it help our members?”

— The ISPA Board’ s lodestar for every decision it makes
Financial oversight Sound financial stewardship anchored the board’ s work. Regular reviews of monthly statements and investments reinforced ISPA’ s fiscal health, while thoughtful discussion of membership dues and Conference rates balanced value and sustainability. The Board also approved annual budgets for both ISPA and the ISPA Foundation, ensuring resources align with the association’ s long-term goals. Along with this, the board celebrated a clean financial audit and annual investment review for the association.
Association governance Good governance remained a central focus. Following a shifted officer election timeframe, outside of the annual Conference, the board made necessary shifts and refined its annual timeline, streamlined officer elections and strengthened succession planning to ensure stability for both ISPA and the ISPA Foundation. The Board also strengthened its partnership with Associations International, extending the current management agreement through 2030, operating on automatic renewal.
Conference leadership A highlight of 2025, the ISPA Conference at The Broadmoor showcased innovation and connection across the spa community. The board helped shape next year’ s event— supporting programming, approving future conference sites and selecting the 2026 keynote speakers. They also honored leaders through the ISPA Dedicated Contributor, ISPA Visionary and ISPA Alex Szekely Humanitarian awards, while exploring fresh ways to engage attendees and uplift resource partners year-round.
Member value Delivering meaningful benefits to members remained a top priority. The Board shared insights from the annual ISPA U. S. Spa Industry Study and began exploring new consumer research opportunities. Directors greenlit expanded iLearn offerings, including two new courses in development funded by the ISPA Foundation, equipping members with actionable tools and education for professional growth. The Board also held the first ISPA Connect event in Miami, Florida, this fall. Save the date for our next ISPA Connect event on January 20, 2026 in Houston, Texas.
Strategic vision Throughout 2025, the board advanced ISPA’ s long-term strategic pillars— strengthening education, research and community; deepening member engagement; elevating profitability; and amplifying the industry’ s collective voice through marketing and public relations.
Behind every initiative lies a shared commitment to the spa community. Through countless discussions, reviews and moments of collaboration, the ISPA Board ensured 2025 was a year of focus, foresight and forward momentum— all in service of a thriving, connected industry. n
