EACH WINTER , as another year comes to a close and a new one dawns , I enjoy a personal tradition : finding something a little outside my comfort zone to accomplish .

My husband Steve and I cook a lot in general but have always found it especially satisfying to infuse a little love and laughter into a meal for our friends and family . So , this year , I ’ ve been inspired to attempt the dish I most enjoyed while spending some time with our resource partner Natura Bisse in Spain recently . Paella ’ s rich flavors and ability to bring people together feels like the perfect challenge .

Mastering paella — the traditional Spanish version of pilaf or risotto or jambalaya — is only one of my ambitions for 2025 , of course . I like to post my goals in my office where everyone can see them . Between personal and professional and work goals , my plans for 2025 range from realistic and achievable ( ensuring a few easy checkmarks on my list !) to the more ambitious , moonshot ideas . Writing them down makes them feel real and reminds me to focus throughout the year .

I wanted to share two ISPA goals from my list : Check out page 12 for an update on the newly-launched iLearn , and find lots of 2025 Conference planning information starting on page 28 .

As we look to the future , let ’ s all reflect on our own goals and those of our spa community . Let ’ s set ourselves up for success in the year ahead , both in business and in life .

Onwards to the new year . I hope it ’ s filled with growth and a few new recipes along the way !
