Truth and Trust in 2025
I RECENTLY PARTICIPATED on a panel about wellness trends at Lake Austin Spa Resort ’ s annual Gathering of Wise Women program , where we took part in a lively discussion about what ’ s happening around the world that can affect our health and well-being .
Truth and trust are big topics for me . As a publicist , I ’ m hyper-aware of how people consume information and where they get their news — from current affairs and travel to the latest skincare techniques . Who would have imagined slathering snail mucin on our faces ? And who am I to say that it ’ s wrong ? ( If you are not familiar , a quick TikTok
“ The conversation turned political . I turned it off , and I was so turned off by it that I reached out to the author ....” search will provide some laughs .) The time it would take to disprove this information would be longer than clicking “ buy now ” after watching compelling testimonials on an Instagram reel .
Speaking of trends , I ’ ve recently been getting into food . Well , I ’ ve always been “ into ” it , and as it goes into me , I learn more and more about how we literally are what we eat . One of my curiosities is seed oils and how they can affect our metabolic health . I discovered Good Energy by Dr . Casey Means and shared it with friends , including my sister . She read it during a road trip to visit her daughter at college , and it changed her entire approach to food . As a result , she watched inflammation in her hands and legs go away and lost 10 pounds without really trying .
