Living the Work We Believe In
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED REVIEWING THE ISPA MEMBER SNAPSHOT SURVEY results shared in December. Beyond the data points, what stood out most was a clear reflection of who we are as a community.
The results reinforced a long-held belief: ISPA members are not only in the spa and wellness business— we truly live the lifestyle. That distinction is rare, and it matters.
Seventy-five percent of members reported visiting a spa and enjoying a treatment outside of work. Eighty-three percent practice gratitude in their daily lives. Members also shared thoughtful book lists and podcast recommendations— perhaps an ISPA book club is in our future— and a wide range of personal wellness rituals that offer great inspiration for anyone looking for new ideas. This is a community that doesn’ t just design well-being for others; we actively practice it ourselves.
Professionally, the survey showed strong momentum. Many members took on expanded responsibilities, earned raises or bonuses, and are being trusted to lead more complex organizations. At the same time, there was a healthy emphasis on balance— taking meaningful breaks, continuing to learn and building teams and cultures designed to endure.
And yes, we also know how to celebrate together. Nearly 70 percent of members love a good party— something that rings true when you look at the energy and turnout at our ISPA Welcome parties.
How fortunate we are to work in an industry where our careers don’ t pull us away from well-being— they deepen it. That is the quiet magic of ISPA. It’ s not just what we do. It’ s how we live— and who we become along the way.
