MEET DR . KRISTIE OVERSTREET I ’ m Dr . Kristie Overstreet , a clinical sexologist , certified sex therapist and psychotherapist with 17 years of clinical experience . I am the host of the Fix Yourself First podcast , and author of Fix Yourself First : 25 Tips to Stop Ruining Your Relationships . My mission is to help people experience selfchange to feel more empowered and connected in their personal and professional relationships .
I created the Transgender Healthcare Dignity Model program and certification , which teaches wellness professionals and organizations how to give dignity care to transgender and nonbinary individuals . My vision is to train over one million wellness professionals to give dignity care for the LGBTQIA + community . I founded the Therapy Department , a virtual wellness practice that provides speaking , consulting and coaching worldwide . My clinical experience has allowed me to become a well-respected as a real-world relationship and LGBTQIA + healthcare expert . I ’ ve been featured in CNN , Forbes , Inc , Sirius XM , Cosmopolitan , New York Magazine , Oprah Magazine , Men ’ s Health , The Washington Post , and various other media outlets .
Pulse : As a Knowledge Builder presenter at the 2024 ISPA Conference , you will address the ISPA membership about transgender and nonbinary spa guests and employees . Share a little about your presentation . Dr Kristie Overstreet : With increased awareness , education and visibility , transgender and nonbinary people will continue to come out as their true selves . Executive leadership , human resources , directors and managers must feel competent in ensuring their transgender and nonbinary employees and guests are treated with dignity . Spa service providers receive little if any training in working with transgender and nonbinary individuals . In this presentation , I will help attendees better understand identity basics , barriers individuals face in the spa setting and best practices . Attendees will leave the session feeling more confident and competent when working with guests and employees .
