It is also important that these questions be asked ( and any other burnout prevention steps be taken ) prior to the discovery of obvious signs of burnout among employees .
Prevention is always preferable to treatment after the fact . Some spa leaders have reported therapists and estheticians taking on greater workloads following post-lockdown reopenings due to high demand , and while the opportunity to increase their earnings is no doubt a welcome one , if that increased workload leads to burnout , spas may find themselves facing even more significant staffing issues and spa professionals could end up stepping away not just from their employer , but from the industry altogether . n
