Voya Beauty is proud to sponsor Seal Rescue Ireland and has pledged to adopt one seal each month . Seals are protected under Irish and EU law and should not be touched or pushed back into the water , as it ’ s normal for them to rest on land . Only about 10 percent of these seals are sick , injured , abandoned , entangled in nets , starving or bitten by dogs . Seal Rescue Ireland rehabilitates these pups and returns them to the wild when healthy . The volunteer-run center handles about 600 rescue calls a year for Harbour and Grey seals from across Ireland ’ s coast , and it costs approximately € 100,000 annually to operate .
