BRILLIANT IDEA A spa health calculator application for spas has been released by JMPankey Partners, located in North Berwick, Maine. The tool uses best practices, key indicators and industry standards to allow spas to calculate the financial health of their business. Customizable, it takes into account the spa size, hours of operation, service revenue and retail revenue. It even grades spas, in comparison to industry standards, via the Spa Checkup Application portion of the benchmarking tool. MEMBER UPDATES 1. Philippe and Sylvie Hennessy have regained complete executive ownership of 1 Pevonia International, LLC, which is based in Daytona Beach, Florida. The brand was founded by the Hennessys in 1991. 2. Located in Carson, California, Dermalogica has re-launched three new and improved additives. The upgraded botanical formulas include Clearing Additive, Revitalizing Additive and Soothing Additive. Dermalogica has also begun offering a half-day class, “Targeted Neck and Shoulder Touch Therapy,” to help therapists use these products in their professional treatments. Now in its third year and held annually on the second Saturday of June, Global Wellness Day’s goal is to increase consciousness of living well. Consumers can also choose to have their purchase go toward the profits of the PCA SKIN provider of their choice. 6 GIVING BACK Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Westin Kierland Resort, Spa and Villas has partnered with the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation to offer guests its “Fresh Start Renewal” Vichy therapy. An entire treatment room at the spa is devoted to the foundation and ten percent of the proceeds go to support the nonprofit organization, which empowers women to transform their lives through engagement and education.
