8. Fashionizer Spa Uniforms temporarily ceased production on
uniforms to begin producing washable fabric face masks. Although
these are not intended for medical use, the mask is designed to
prevent the wearer from touching their nose or mouth, a key method
for virus transmission. “In the light of this unprecedented threat to
lives and livelihood, we have looked at a way to focus on the
positive, preserve jobs and assist using our expertise and resources,”
said Debbie Leon, owner and founder of Fashionizer Spa Uniforms.

9. Oakworks developed a low cost, limited-release FDA approved patient
bed to assist with emergency response critical supply needs for
U.S. COVID-19 patients. Manufactured in the U.S. with just-in-time delivery,
Oakworks‘ factory was able to produce up to 200 beds per day.
10. Hilton Worldwide and American Express partnered together to
donate up to 1 million hotel room nights across the United States to
frontline medical professionals leading the fight against COVID-19.
These rooms were made available without charge to doctors, nurses,
EMTs, paramedics and other frontline medical staff who need a
place to sleep, recharge or isolate from their families through the
end of May.

1. [ comfort zone ] received a B Corp recertification, the result of
companywide efforts to improve its positive impact on the
planet since initially receiving B Corp certification in 2016. The
company improved its B Corp score from 2016, achieving a
mark of 117.4 compared to 2016’s score of 99.

2. BABOR announced it has reached climate neutrality using
green electricity, photovoltaics and climate-neutral gas at its
headquarters in Germany. In total, BABOR is offsetting
8,050,770 kg of CO2 a year. BABOR’s sustainability plan, Green
Agenda 2025, involves an interdisciplinary sustainability team
scrutinizing processes and developing solutions for operating
even more sustainably. The team has also announced a target
of reducing its use of plastics by 30 percent by 2023.
3. Sue Harmsworth, founder of ESPA and the 2017 ISPA
Visionary Award winner, has brought together a group of
owners and founders in the United Kingdom and Ireland to
create the Standards Authority of Touch in Cancer Care
(SATCC). The mission of this group is to offer a national
standard, providing people touched by cancer access to
appropriately qualified therapists who are capable of catering
to cancer patients’ individual needs. SATCC will also offer a
safe platform for spas to find training courses. n
