Ryan Leak ’ s keynote address about “ Leveling Up ” at this year ’ s event challenged attendees with six questions for next-level leadership ( see more on page 20 ). As I step into the role of your ISPA Chair , it seems like a good moment for some introspection .

What ’ s it like to be on the other side of me / us ? Ryan ’ s nudge on self-awareness is a great reminder : Let ’ s aim to amplify the voices of all ISPA members , honor our diverse experiences , and respect and learn from everyone ’ s perspectives . What credit can I give away ? This one ’ s easy : First , I want to express my unwavering confidence in the leadership team and ISPA Board that I am fortunate to work alongside . I ’ m also so grateful to acknowledge the model leadership of Patrick Huey and all my predecessors as ISPA Chair who laid a solid foundation upon which we can continue to build and grow . Who are we paving the way for ? Increasing member involvement within our Association is a key priority . To achieve this , we will expand our member engagement initiatives and create even more opportunities for professional development and education . Are we enjoying it ? This one really resonates with me — I always say we should be having fun or why are we doing it ? How can I / we get better ? Ryan suggested asking a few trusted colleagues how we as individuals can be better leaders . Bring the energy you want to see — I am pumped about chatting with members and hearing how we can better serve them . What would we do if we knew we couldn ’ t fail ? What wouldn ’ t we do ? Together , let ’ s level up , Dream Big , and make our community stronger than ever .
