In 2014, Blackberry Farm opened The Wellhouse which serves as a sanctuary for guests in search of personal discovery, vitality and relaxation. 14 PULSE n March/April 2015 A Philosophy of Balance BY ALEXANDER MENRISKY “Blackberry Farm’s approach to spa and wellness is rooted in a philosophy of balance,” says Wellness Director Amanda Anderson. “Our goal is to help guests relax and renew, while also nurturing sustainable habits for a healthy lifestyle after their stay is over.” The Wellhouse took about 16 months to build under the leadership and direction of Kreis Beall, founder and director of design at Blackberry Farm. “We used a Knoxville architecture firm and contractor and then utilized the Blackberry Farms design team for all interior design and installation,” Anderson says. Farm-Grown Wellness Many of The Wellhouse’s spa treatments synchronize with the natural cycles of the farm itself, coupled with the advanced science and technology of the spa industry.
