Blackberry Farm’s Unique Outdoor Activities
Deep Healing Woods
Deep Healing Woods, based on the Japanese practice
of shinrin-yoku or “forest bathing,” embraces
scientific research on phytoncides, which are airborne
compounds released by trees and other plants. When
inhaled, the compounds’ anti-fungal and anti-bacterial
properties take effect and stimulate white blood cells
that fight disease, promoting health and wellness.
“Blackberry Farm’s ‘forest bathing’ activities have
been proven to enhance fitness, accelerate healing,
increase mental focus, improve biological responses
to reduce stress and fight disease,” Anderson says.
The forest bathing concept encompasses several
outdoor activities, such as the Earthfit Endurance

exercised on a platform in the woods.
Foxhunting
Foxhunting is a favorite tradition among Blackberry
Farm’s guests who return year after year to
experience the communal thrill of the chase.
This unique outdoor event includes meals, an
exciting hunt and plenty of opportunities to enjoy
the sport with friends. The hunting season is capped
with a Foxhunt Finale in March, where guests
hunt for one last time for the season, and share a
traditional Blackberry Farm Hunt Breakfast and
Masters’ Dinner.
