one of my favorite things to do in the summer is mow
the lawn. it clears my brain and allows me to be outside and enjoy
the fresh country air and sunlight. my happy place!
over the winter months, the Kentucky weather hasn’t been
conducive to mowing. While i’ve been cooped up inside
with my cute husband and precious miniature
dachshunds, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed a
different method of brain relief: puzzles!
i have always LoVED putting puzzles
together but hadn’t in a few years until i
received a very fun one over the holidays.
now i’m hooked again! Puzzles provide a
unique kind of satisfaction for me. They
challenge me and test my patience, but are
so rewarding once complete. Sometimes,
however, i get stuck. nothing fits and everything
looks the same. in these moments, it always helps to walk
away for a bit. Like with most things in life, that pause allows me to
come back to the table and see the pieces more clearly. more often
than not, with some distance and perspective, the solution presents
itself to me on its own.
many areas of our personal and professional lives are just like a
puzzle. We have the pieces needed to reach success, but it takes
focus and patience to figure out the challenges in front of us. if we
can walk away and allow what we have learned and the things we
have accomplished to become settled within us, perhaps we can
return to the puzzle with a fresh outlook and the solution will come
right to us.
maybe your spa needs to recharge, or you’re in need of a
refreshed outlook on the task at hand. Whatever the puzzle may be,
don’t be afraid to step away for a bit—the pieces will find their
rightful places soon enough. in the meantime, stay focused, stay
patient and appreciate the lessons you learn along the way.
P.S.: Start a puzzle today and let me know what you think. But be
careful—they are addicting!
