When asked if she had any advice for a spa that wants to
start using ISPA research more regularly, Winter offered the
following tip: “Participate in the Snapshot Surveys and get
the complimentary reports. Compare yourself to the re-
sults—it is great to measure yourself before someone else
does!”
Judy Terry, director of sales for Sonoma Lavender,
likewise uses data to drive her decision-making at the
California-based resource partner. Says Terry, “We utilize

the Consumer Snapshot Initiative to gather information
on spa demographics and what they may want moving
forward.” There are nine volumes of the Consumer
Snapshot Initiative—not to be confused with the monthly
Snapshot Survey—and each one studies different aspects
of the spa-going population.
