AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION , ISPA relies on the generous commitment of ISPA member volunteers to share their time and expertise through board service to help set the strategic direction for the association . The association is grateful to those who are willing to make such a considerable investment of time and resources to help further the success of ISPA and the spa industry . In January , the application will open for any eligible member interested in serving on the ISPA Board of Directors .

The ISPA Nominations Committee is tasked with evaluating the needs of the current Board and leading the interview and selection process . The ISPA Nominations process is very thorough and has evolved over the years to identify high-level leadership qualities and attributes . Applicants will remain confidential and go through a standard process which can include up to two interviews ( conducted via video conferencing ). The selected applicants will be placed on the ISPA board of Directors Slate of Candidates , which is sent to the ISPA membership for approval . Following membership approval , a thoughtful orientation process is conducted before the new board members take office at the 2023 ISPA Conference .
