LET ’ S TALK ABOUT A FEW OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE joining us at The Broadmoor in March . These individuals never give up and consistently choose positivity .

I might be fangirling a bit over Will Guidara ! After a gut-wrenching low placement on the world ’ s best restaurants list , Will transformed his disappointment into a movement around unreasonable hospitality . Many leaders since have reimagined their approach to business , focusing on creating extraordinary guest experiences and celebrating team wins . There was no better choice right now for the ISPA Visionary Award !

And then there ’ s Amy Purdy — how I wish I could have her voice narrating my daily life ! Amy turned a potential career-ending illness into a medal-winning journey as a Paralympian , becoming a global speaker and earning a spot on Oprah ’ s list of 100 influential women . I love her reply when people ask how she stayed so positive : How can you not when there is so much to be grateful for ? She exemplifies the ideals of the ISPA Alex Szekely Humanitarian Award .

This final one is more personal because it ’ s someone who ’ s close to all of us — Anna Moine ! Anna ’ s story doesn ’ t involve a life-altering challenge , but she has channeled her steadfast love for volunteerism and ISPA into being a champion for our industry . Making the call to share the news she had won the ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award ranks as one of the biggest highlights in my time as Chair . When she asked me if I was sure it was for her , it really hit home how sincere and pure is her love for our spa community .

As we approach ISPA ’ s 35th anniversary , I ’ m overjoyed to celebrate with these three remarkably positive individuals and all of you ! Let ’ s focus on all the good in our world , turn things around when needed and bring smiles to those around us . And if you ever need a pep talk — give me a call !
