SECOND-QUARTER PERFORMANCE IN THE SPA INDUSTRY

THE JULY 2024 ISPA SNAPSHOT SURVEY asked respondents to share details about their spa or company ’ s second quarter performance ( April 1 to June 30 , 2024 ) compared to the second quarter of 2023 . The results indicate revenue and spa visits in the spa industry continue to increase , opening the door for new hiring opportunities .
Compared to the same period in 2023 , 67 percent of spas surveyed reported an increase in second quarter revenue .
THIS ENCOURAGING INCREASE in revenue led to 61 percent of spa respondents reporting an increase in profits . Just over 15 percent saw profit increases exceeding 20 percent compared to the prior second quarter profits . Spa visits were also up for 48 percent of respondents .

PERHAPS MOST ENCOURAGINGLY , 70 percent of respondents hired a new employee and 48 percent of respondents filled vacant positions during the second quarter . In addition , 43 percent of respondents added a new treatment to their spa menu , and 44 percent added a new brand or product line to their retail lineup .
