My favorite is to host a wellness-inspired team meeting where we partner with our fitness department or resource partners to create a “ Relax & Recharge ” session . We just finished a soundbath healing experience where our team enjoyed the amazing benefits of meditation , sound therapy and Yoga Nidra to reconnect them to their own inner healer . This was a beautiful and powerful experience that not only revitalized our team but created an amazing new bond with our fitness instructors , forming mutual respect , admiration and a newfound passion for wellness collaborations for our property .

I love playing a game called “ Word Association .” I will call out five words , and the participants write down the first word that comes to their mind . It creates a lot of laughs , eases nerves and tension in the room . Most importantly , it sets the stage for a no-wrong-answer environment !

Our go-to team-building exercise and my favorite icebreaker is to go around the room and have everyone share something new and wonderful in their life . This activity helps us start our meeting on a positive note , fosters a sense of connection among team members and allows us to celebrate personal achievements and milestones . It creates an open and supportive environment , encouraging everyone to feel comfortable and engaged from the beginning .

During a recent morning lineup meeting I could tell my team was low energy and off balance with one another . Instead of speaking right away , I turned on music , started dancing and encouraged everyone to join in . My team loved this exercise as it brought camaraderie , energy and a positive start to the day . A small act became impactful and now we have a tradition of “ Friday Dance Up Meeting .”

We conduct icebreakers for retreats and one-off meetings , but the monthly staff meeting is particularly important . Each meeting starts with celebrations . This can include positive guest reviews , praise from co-workers , the leaderboard for enhancement sales , etc . Next , we move on to old business and then new business , which encompasses areas of concern , new products , policies and procedures . We conclude the meeting by going around the room , giving everyone the opportunity to share something they would like to celebrate or any challenges they have faced . This helps us solve problems collectively . Our meetings are always kept positive and constructive , never turning into complaint sessions .
