“( Everything I Do ) I Do It for You ” by Bryan Adams was the year ’ s number one single when ISPA was founded in 1991 , and it perfectly embodies the spirit ISPA has embraced over the years . We are deeply grateful to the countless volunteer leaders and thousands of members around the globe who have contributed to this effort . Thank you !
ANNIVERSARIES HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS . This year , my cute husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary . Time has certainly flown by — our dear friend and spa pioneer Mary Bemis recently reminded me she and about a dozen other spa writers first met Barry when they happened to join us on our honeymoon . But that is a funny story for another time ….
Speaking of milestones , ISPA is celebrating , too : Next year marks 35 years focused solely on defining and elevating the spa industry . Gone are the days when we had to explain to the media and consumers that we are not hot tubs ! We went from measuring U . S . spa industry revenues in hundreds of millions of dollars in 1991 to over $ 21 billion in 2023 .
We also know many of our members are celebrating their own achievements . If you have an anniversary or milestone in 2025 , please share it with us so we can all celebrate and elevate each other together . Our “ 35th ” celebration is part of the excitement around returning to Colorado Springs and The Broadmoor in 2025 . In fact , keynote Peter Katz will focus on the theme of celebration as well ( see page 48 ). Who knows — maybe we can encourage him to sing our favorite Bryan Adams song ! Let ’ s elevate — n
