FROM FOLDING TOWELS TO ISPA CHAIR:

WHEN I LOOK BACK nearly 30 years to my first ISPA Conference, I can still feel the overwhelming moment— walking into a massive general session, staring up at the towering stage and giant screens, not knowing a soul in the room. I was young, unsure of where I fit in, but eager to learn and be part of something bigger.

Like many of you, I started in this industry at the very beginning— folding towels, working the spa front desk and managing the men’ s spa. A passion for fitness and spa— before“ wellness” became a movement— sparked an immediate connection with the energy, the purpose, the people. The ability to connect with guests and witness transformation was powerful— a little addictive.

I never imagined I’ d one day serve as ISPA Chair. Back then, even stepping on stage felt out of reach. Even now, it’ s still a little intimidating. But stepping into this role now comes with gratitude, humility and excitement.

I’ ve grown up in this industry alongside many of you. What’ s been most meaningful through the years isn’ t just the innovation or insight— it’ s the community, the kindness, the passion and the support that defines ISPA.

As we begin this journey together, I’ m committed to listening, learning and celebrating the stories and people who make this community so vibrant.

Together we’ ll continue shaping the future— and perhaps be reminded that anything is possible with people who believe in what we do. n
