Their role is not to preserve the past unchanged. It is to help ISPA carry forward what remains valuable while continuing to evolve.
A connection that continues at Conference Leaders Circle members are also invited to gather at a brief reception before the annual ISPA Conference. The informal event welcomes newly eligible members, reconnects longtime colleagues and recognizes the service represented within the group.
The reception reflects an important part of ISPA’ s culture: Leadership does not necessarily end when a board term concludes or an award is presented. Experience can continue to serve the association through mentoring, conversation, advocacy and a readiness to contribute when called upon.
That example matters for every ISPA member The Leaders Circle demonstrates that service can create benefits far beyond a single committee assignment, board term or Conference. Members who participate today help build the knowledge, relationships and momentum that future leaders will inherit.
The Leaders Circle honors those who have already
answered that call. Its greater purpose is to remind the entire ISPA community that the association’ s future will be shaped by the members who step forward next. n

Experience Informs. The Board Leads.

THE ISPA LEADERS CIRCLE offers continuity, historical perspective and experienced insight, but it is not a governing body or a second board. Responsibility for setting direction, making final decisions and leading the association remains with the sitting ISPA Board of Directors. When Leaders Circle members are consulted, their perspectives serve as an additional resource to support— not supersede— the Board’ s leadership.
ADD YOUR VOICE Not every ISPA member will serve on a board or receive an industry honor. Every member, however, can contribute to ISPA’ s strength.
Respond to surveys. Join a volunteer group. Share operational insight with the ISPA Team. Participate in association events. Consider board service when the opportunity is right. Even a limited commitment can introduce a perspective that helps ISPA better understand and serve its membership.
That continuity of leadership gives ISPA a valuable long view as the spa industry evolves. Jane Segerberg, Katlyn Hatcher, Kate Mearns, Lynne McNees and Mary Bemis are part of a community whose experience can help the association consider new pressures and possibilities with the benefit of hard-earned perspective.
