Trellis Spa at The Houstonian hosted a special “ Receive One Facial , Give One Facial ” event in October , in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month . Guests who enjoyed a Natura Bissé facial had the opportunity to gift a complimentary facial to someone undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment . Recipients were able to enjoy a personalized facial from an oncology-trained esthetician in the Natura Bissé Pure Air Bubble pop-up treatment tent . This meaningful initiative was underwritten by the Ricardo Fisas Natura Bissé Foundation , whose mission is to empower individuals navigating a cancer journey .“ A day at the spa while undergoing cancer treatment can have a whole new meaning ,” said Josanna Gaither , executive director of the Ricardo Fisas Natura Bissé Foundation .“ We hope that a few hours at Trellis Spa will not only rejuvenate recipients but help them to relax and enjoy moments of peace .”
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene , Tennessee-based CauseMedic has donated $ 5,000 each to two nonprofits supporting recovery efforts in Asheville and the surrounding areas : World Central Kitchen , providing meals to communities impacted by disasters , and the Appalachian Community Fund , channeling resources to the areas of greatest need .
