without spa appointments .“ The main goal was to have an actual retail space for shopping ,” Mathis explains . This redesign allowed guests to immerse themselves in the retail experience , which is a focal point for Mathis .“ The layout of the retail area is also accessible for resort guests who may want to come in and shop , but don ’ t have spa appointments . We now have two successful skincare lines , body care and nail care . We have recently expanded into boutique items as well .”
As the spa undergoes its current renovation , an additional 1,200 square feet of space is being added , promising even more enhancements to the retail area . Plans include more shelving , new display units and improved lighting .“ We have once again run out of shelf space ,” notes Mathis , highlighting the need for expansion to accommodate new brands and a growing inventory .
The spa ’ s décor , reflecting its Smoky Mountains setting , features beautiful dark millwork throughout , which extends into the retail space . Each brand is given a unique display , and the décor is updated seasonally , creating a dynamic atmosphere . This thoughtful design is one of the spa ’ s most cherished aspects .
Guests are particularly enthusiastic about this everchanging selection of products . They eagerly anticipate new product launches and seasonal offerings , often visiting the spa specifically to shop for gifts and personal treats .“ Our guests get excited to see new product launches and seasonal features . They enjoy looking around for teacher gifts , stocking stuffers , birthday presents and , of course , for themselves ,” Mathis says .
Both local and resort guests appreciate the opportunity to purchase the products used during their treatments . The spa ’ s educated therapists and knowledgeable front desk team work together to recommend products , enhancing the overall guest experience .“ Our locals and resort guests both like being able to purchase what we use on them during the treatments ,” adds Mathis .
As the spa continues to expand and enhance its offerings , it remains a beloved destination for relaxation and retail therapy , creatively blending luxury , convenience and the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains . n
