How technology is changing spa and spa-goers:
i worry about the lack of interaction and human
connection because of technology and social media that we
hear so much about. This industry thrives on human
connection, and it is fading. Those of us who are in the
industry have a common desire to serve and take care of
people. i believe the upcoming generations like being taken
care of and prefer to be on the receiving end of the service,
which makes me concerned about the labor pool.
The push for longer hours due to higher demand:
i’m concerned about the future of our body workers who
don’t fall under the norms of labor laws. forty-hour work
weeks are not appropriate for them but the trends are
pushing them closer to that edge to satisfy health care
requirements and benefits. i will personally work to
address this issue and be proactive about their care.

The treatment that has grown the most since he entered the
industry: oncology massage. Sadly, with the statistics of
cancer rates growing, it is so important that our industry
adapt to what our guests and clients need. i am happy
to see that spas and therapists are embracing this very
important modality as a healing tool for survivors
because it can help physically, mentally and emotionally.
Maintaining balance while adapting to changing trends:
We have implemented special
programs and i also keep an eye
on trends versus fads. While i
think it’s important to keep
rooted in the traditional therapies, i also think there are
great modern opportunities for spas. i look at them
closely and decide what i want to bring in to enhance
our offerings and elevate the guest experience.
On his own professional evolution: Being a responsible
financial operator has been something i have continued to
evolve and change in how i run my spas. i am able to
really drill down into the financial performance and make
sure i am running the tightest ship possible while
maintaining the high level of offerings and service to my
guests. Doing due diligence for optimum performance is
important to having a successful business!
