THE ISPA INNOVATE AWARDS HAVE , since 2013 , celebrated the creativity and inventiveness of spas and resource partners throughout the industry , and the 2021 awards have continued that tradition . But of course , this year ’ s awards are different than any that have come before .
The COVID-19 pandemic that gripped most of the world throughout 2020 and into 2021 meant that adaptability and outside-the-box thinking were more essential to spa industry businesses than ever before , and the 2021 ISPA Innovate Award winners embody those qualities without question .
This year ’ s awards , voted on by fellow ISPA members , were granted in three categories — Business Practices , Philanthropy and Technology — to spa and resource partner leaders who implemented successful solutions and innovations in response to the pandemic . These programs , initiatives and advancements illustrate exactly the type of profound dedication and resilience demonstrated throughout the industry over the past year .
This month , Pulse caught up with 2021 Innovate Award winners , who shared their thoughts about their innovations ’ origins and impact during the pandemic .
