CONTINUE around the world , spa leaders have had to decide how best to — or even whether — to encourage their teams to become vaccinated as some people remain hesitant . This month , ISPA asked Snapshot Survey respondents to identify their businesses ’ approach to staff vaccinations and found that a majority of spas ( 53 percent ) will encourage employees to get vaccinated but will not offer specific incentives to do so . These respondents did , however , often noted that they had provided employees with extensive information about vaccination , including how to sign up to receive a shot , or shared FAQs about the vaccines . Some respondents even noted hosting vaccination clinics for staff .
Less than a quarter of spa respondents ( 22 percent ) said that they would offer incentives to encourage vaccination . Members identified gift cards , service credits , stipends and flex time as some of the incentives they ’ re providing to vaccinated employees . Just three percent of spa respondents indicated that they would require employees to get vaccination , and 22 percent either do not plan to enact a specific vaccination policy or are not sure what their spa ’ s policy will be .
Resource partner respondents were less definitive than spa respondents on the subject of vaccinations , with just over a third ( 36 percent ) saying they will encourage employees to get vaccinated but will not offer incentives . More than half of resource partner respondents said that their business does not plan to enact a specific policy regarding vaccinations ( 33 percent ) or that they are unsure about enacting such a policy ( 21 percent ). Just three percent of resource partner respondents are offering incentives to employees who get vaccinated , and six percent are requiring vaccination .
