TURNING CONVERSATION INTO ACTION

The follow-through factor: Where Conference really pays off

THE REAL VALUE OF CONFERENCE doesn’ t end when the sessions do— it begins when you return home. Members of the ISPA Board recently considered a simple question: How do you turn Conference conversations into meaningful action? Their answers point to a shared truth: Success comes from acting quickly, prioritizing intentionally and following through with purpose.
Move fast, stay focused“ Momentum matters,” says Kenneth Ryan, who emphasizes quick follow-ups, introductions and decisions before ideas fade. Jana Koebrick echoes this urgency— moving immedi- ately on what matters most, while thoughtfully filing other ideas“ for the future.”
At the same time, impact comes from focus. Ella Kent puts it simply: Choose one idea to execute well. Two or three strong actions, adds Ryan, are often all it takes to create real impact.
Plan with purpose Structure turns conversations into outcomes. Christina Quinn builds detailed follow-up plans— prioritizing outreach, aligning solutions and setting clear timelines with accountability.
