Katz ’ s work has been featured on numerous TV shows and movies , including coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics / Paralympics .
Katz is one of Canada ’ s most in-demand speakers and facilitators , known for his highly customized “ Keynote Concerts .” He has delivered these engaging presentations as a four-time TEDx fellow as well as to hundreds of companies and organizations seeking to create new opportunities for connection and elevation . Notably , he was invited to address the House of Commons of Canada .
Pulse : As a musician , you ’ ve traveled the world and heard your work appear in TV shows and movies . How do you incorporate those experiences into your motivational speaking ? Peter Katz : During my years as a touring musician , I logged thousands of hours onstage , with audiences of all varieties , from two people to 50,000 people , from dive bars to arenas . In every instance , you have to earn the trust of your audience . You have to solve the riddle that ’ s in front of you : What does this moment need ? What happened in the world this morning ? What ’ s the pulse of the room ? What can I do to meet this moment ?
In many ways , my speaking audiences are even more diverse than my concert audiences . At most of my concerts , people are there because they like my music and are ready and willing to go on the journey .
In my speaking work , they ’ re generally there because they have to be ! It ’ s a company event or an association gathering . So , it ’ s all the more important that I lean into the moment and create something specifically for them : relevant , actionable , impactful and engaging .
