“ We have cards with the therapist ’ s name on them and a QR code ,” said VanEron .“ Our property has an incentive program , and they give $ 25 to each name recognized . If they receive 10 in a month , they give that employee $ 500 and it ’ s a monthly payout added to their paycheck .”

So all of our team members have the opportunity to earn a cash bonus based on our overall company financials , guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction .”
Boundaries to encourage work-life balance “ We have an on-call phone , so whoever is on call for the weekend keeps the phone ,” said Sampson .“ Unless there is a major emergency , it allows us to take a break and spend uninterrupted time with our families , and that has been nice .”
Gigi Guiette shared her spa ’ s goal is “ being aware , being attentive to their schedule and days off and leading by example .”
“ Due to California laws , our employees do have scheduled rest breaks and meal breaks and are not scheduled for more than eight hours a day ,” said Cabrera .“ I do allow overtime , but it ’ s not a requirement , and I won ’ t let anyone work more than six days a week . If someone wants their time off , we want to encourage that .” n
