Inside the ISPA Board Nominations Process A Path to Leadership
EACH YEAR , THE ISPA NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE evaluates the needs of the ISPA Board and proposes members to fill vacancies that arise from the annual rotation . The nominations process is both confidential and comprehensive . Over the years , it has been refined to better identify candidates who possess exceptional leadership qualities and attributes . This process is designed to ensure the ISPA governing body includes individuals with the highest levels of leadership and expertise , aligning with the board ’ s mission and the evolving needs of the Association .
The ISPA Board approved its 2024-25 Nominations Committee during the June 2024 board meeting . This group is comprised of previous ISPA officers who are highly engaged in the Association : Patrick Huey ( co-chair ), Ella Kent ( co-chair ), Kelleye Martin ( ISPA Chair , ex-officio ), Jeff Kohl , Frank Pitsikalis , Jane Segerberg and Jennifer Wayland-Smith .
The Expression of Candidacy Process l To be considered for a board position , members must first meet a set of qualifications established by the Nominations Committee . The Expression of Candidacy will open December 23 , 2024 , and will close January 10 , 2025 . l The selection process can include up to two interviews ,
l during which candidates are evaluated on their readiness and fit for the board ’ s needs . At the end of the evaluation , the Nominations Committee presents its recommendations as the ISPA Board Slate of Candidates , with each candidate designated for up to a three-year term . This slate is then submitted to the ISPA membership for a vote of approval .
