Visionary Award . After careful consideration , the Board voted on the 2025 award recipients , each of whom will be featured in a future issue of Pulse .
Volunteer Groups Updated Each year following the annual Conference , the ISPA volunteer groups reset for the coming term . ( ISPA ’ s volunteer groups typically run on a Conference-to-Conference term .) Prior to the meeting , the Board had reviewed the proposed volunteer group leaders for the upcoming term . In addition , the Board reviewed and approved the Nominations Committee for 2025 . Per the Association bylaws , the ISPA Board approves the Nominations Committee each year . Strategic Visioning
ISPA PAST CHAIR AND MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER JEAN KOLB facilitated a half-day Strategic Visioning session with the ISPA Board . Looking ahead as far as the mid-2030s , the Board ’ s exercises and discussion centered around the theme of “ elevating the position of spa globally by elevating ISPA globally .”
During the session , Board members reviewed ISPA ’ s accomplishments since 1991 and membership levels over recent years . Discussions focused on promoting ISPA ’ s many achievements and ongoing efforts on behalf of the membership and spa industry . The Board strategized ways to grow ISPA membership over the next five to 10 years , emphasizing a comprehensive marketing and PR strategy . Recognizing the importance of ISPA ’ s research offerings — rated as a top member benefit — the Board discussed promoting these resources while developing future industry data points . Additionally , they explored various methods to further train and prepare the second tier of spa managers .
What is strategic visioning ?
For a nonprofit association board , developing a long-term plan is essential for setting a clear and inspiring direction for the organization ’ s future . The plan , or strategic vision , is a framework for improvement and success . It outlines the organization ’ s goals and values along with methods for achieving them . This practice allows board members to align on long-term goals , anticipate challenges and identify opportunities for growth . By setting a strategic plan , the board ensures its initiatives are focused , cohesive and actionable , driving the mission forward effectively .
