Join the ISPA Board INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE ISPA BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
EACH YEAR, THE ISPA NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE carefully evaluates the current board’ s composition and identifies leadership needs to fill upcoming vacancies. This process ensures the board continues to reflect the high standards and strategic vision of the association.
Eligible members( see below) are invited to submit an Expression of Candidacy online to be considered for board service. Candidates may participate in up to two video interviews as part of the thorough selection process. Those nominated to the slate can serve a term of up to three years, with the opportunity to serve two consecutive terms before a required one-year break.
The final slate is presented to the ISPA membership for approval, and newly elected directors receive a comprehensive orientation before officially joining the board during the annual ISPA Conference.
ELIGIBILITY FOR BOARD SERVICE l Must be a current, primary member of ISPA in compliance with the ISPA Bylaws( article VI, section 2). l Must have an ISPA membership tenure of at least two years. l Must have attended at least one ISPA Conference. l Must be willing to volunteer approximately one to two hours each month.
WHAT DOES BOARD SERVICE INVOLVE? Serving on the ISPA Board of Directors is a meaningful leadership opportunity to support and represent the association’ s membership. Board members are expected to be actively engaged in ISPA’ s work and contribute thoughtfully to its strategic direction. A snapshot of the responsibilities include: l

Attendance: Attending three in-person meetings, monthly virtual connects and the annual ISPA Conference. Preparation: Directors are expected to review all materials shared with the board including a weekly digital update, monthly headquarters report and comprehensive board materials prior to each meeting. Engagement: In addition, the board is fully engaged in all ISPA communications on social media, periodic Snapshot Surveys, Pulse magazine, Town Halls and other written updates.
Directors are expected to be familiar with comprehensive board materials.
