Current Obsessions from the Frontlines
I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE. I’ m a hoarder. I so enjoy coming to the annual ISPA Conference for many reasons, but let’ s be honest: Who doesn’ t love taking home some incredible things to try? Many of them end up making their way to your spa clientele, and there’ s a high probability of becoming a personal fan and buying the products independently of your work. Like me.
But I have to be careful. Living in a 700-square-foot downtown Austin condo means that for everything I bring in, I need to take something out— there’ s simply no space. And I’ ve definitely got product-hoarding tendencies in my blood. Quality over quantity is my mantra when deciding what makes the cut.
Lately, some favorites have stood out.
Not one for wearable tech, I’ ve crossed over to the dark side and am sporting a black wristband that measures my heart rate, tracks my recovery and sleep and notes when I have stressful moments throughout the day. It’ s been a learning moment for me, opening up my eyes to how data will continue to shape the way we maximize our health and longevity.
One of the things I found at Conference this year included a batch of all-natural relaxation gummies, which has become part of my wind-down ritual, improving my sleep quality and offering a dessert-like treat before bed. I take them 30 minutes before going to sleep and my ever-watchful bracelet is very happy with me the next day. Think about your current services that help people with sleep— it’ s a big problem in our society that doesn’ t seem to be going away.
