Whether from the caring voice of a friend or a message seen on television , moments of inspiration can come from any direction . For Rebekah Jensen , that inspiration came from her ancestors . The Texas native is the proud founder of Sanara , a plant-based skin care line that celebrates indigenous Latin American botanicals .
“ I ’ ve been living with psoriasis since my teens , and it wasn ’ t until my 30 ’ s that I began to understand the negative impact on my skin I was having by the products I was using ,” said Jensen . “ I began DI- Y ’ ing my own skincare in my kitchen and eventually sold all my dining room furniture so I could turn it into my test lab . It was through this skin self-discovery that I felt a pull from my ancestors to begin researching ingredients my Latin American ancestors have been using for
